8th Street Doctors of Chiropractic

Dr. Neil Barber                                                              Neil Barber, D.C.

Hi, I’m Dr. Neil Barber. I attended the University of Regina before attending the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College and graduated in 1986. During my 4 years at CMCC I was fortunate to have been introduced to Thompson Terminal Point Technique, a low force chiropractic technique I continue to practice today. This technique is very well tolerated by people of all ages.

Early in my career I made the commitment to be a lifelong student. In the late 80’s and 90’s I added to the nutrition and chiropractic science I learned at CMCC and also became certified in clinical acupuncture. In 2005 I started taking Functional Neurology through Parker Chiropractic College and in 2008 through the Carrick Institute for Graduate Studies. In 2013 I completed a 3 year program through the Carrick Institute and am Board Eligible in Functional Neurology. In Feb 2016 I began another 2 year Functional Neurology Program through Functional Neurology Seminars. In addition to my chiropractic practice I am also the clinical director of Western Canada Neuropathy Relief Centre (Saskatoon clinic). I have received certification from Bridgeport University in Mastering Brain Chemistry.

I love doing what I do. I do not recall a day in practice I have not thoroughly enjoyed. Particularly recently with the addition of my Functional Neurology training. Participating in people’s lives through the art, science and philosophy of chiropractic and functional neurology is a gift I am forever grateful for.

I practice what I preach to those I am privileged to care for: I eat well, exercise 3 – 4 days a week, do my neurological exercises, limit my “screen time” (T.V., computer, mobile media) and get my spine adjusted regularly. These simple measures have provided me with a productive and healthy life.

When not at the clinic I balance my life reading, studying, exercising and spending time with my wife and growing family.

I welcome you and thank you for visiting our website site. Although we offer much more than Chiropractic our focus continues to be the delivery of advanced Chiropractic Care.

Dr. Mike MajeranMike Majeran, D.C.

Hi, I’m Dr. Mike Majeran. I am originally from Regina where I attended Martin Collegiate. After graduating high school, I moved to Saskatoon to attend University of Saskatchewan. Saskatoon was home until moving to Toronto to attend Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC). I graduated from CMCC, with clinical honors, in 1990 and have been practicing in Saskatoon ever since.

Having been in practice for over 20 years, I have had the opportunity to experience a very diverse patient base. I have been blessed with the opportunity to treat generations of families, athletes: recreational and competitive, students and those of us who fall somewhere between these groups. Recognizing the value of integrating Acupuncture in the treatment of my clients, I achieved my certification in Acupuncture in 1986 and have been a member of the Saskatoon Acupuncture Association ever since.

My focus is to work with our patients to deliver the best combined healthcare possible. Receiving regular chiropractic adjustment myself has allowed me to maintain an active lifestyle. I follow a routine of regular exercise, regular adjustments, and striving towards proper nutrition to manage life’s unavoidable stresses. This is naturally very similar to what I recommend for my patients.

When I am not at the clinic, my time is predominantly spent with my family. My wife and I are doing our best to raise our two teenage children: Sean and Holly. Enjoying them and their interests has been our passion. Summer is a favorite as it opens up the camping lifestyle we all enjoy.

Thanks for your time and I look forward to the opportunity to work with you on your health and well being. ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

Daniel Hounjet , D.C.

Hi, I’m Dr. Daniel Hounjet. I was born and raised on a farm in a rural francophone community in Saskatchewan. At age 16 my family moved to Saskatoon where I completed high school at St. Joseph High School. Following graduation, I attended the University of Saskatchewan for Kinesiology. Afterwards, I went on to attend Northwestern Health Sciences University in Minneapolis, Minnesota where I graduated with a Doctorate of Chiropractic. Following completion of my doctorate, I returned home to Saskatoon to begin practice where I have been a patient my whole life, at 8th Street Chiropractic Health and Wellness Clinic.

As no two people are alike, I utilize a diverse clinical approach to patient care that is tailored to the needs of each patient. I combine diversified adjusting technique along with Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) and kinesiology taping. I have also attended multiple extremity adjusting seminars to help treat a broader range of extremity issues. I am continuously learning and trying to enhance the level of care I can provide to my patients. I feel it is important to stay up to date on current best practices and continue to expand my clinical skills.

Being physically active has always been an important aspect of my life; and I continue to make this a priority.  I spend my free time away from the clinic playing hockey and participating in CrossFit. Additionally, being back home has allowed me to spend more time with my family and friends, which I greatly value.

I look forward to meeting you and assisting you in achieving your goals.
